She becomes fixated on a tree engraved with the same cryptic symbol that Lottie has been obsessing over, and embroiders it on the blanket she gives to Shauna at their half-hearted “baby showerâ€. Shortly after, Shauna’s nose starts bleeding and a flock of birds crashes into the cabin and dies, staining the blanket with blood.
Coach Ben is haunted by memories of his boyfriend Paul breaking up with him over his unwillingness to live as an out gay man and ultimately starving himself to death instead of eating Jackie’s remains. Meanwhile, Misty befriends a theater kid and learns the value of lying to become someone else, a skill she will later employ to great effect as an adult.
