Will ‘Deadpool 3’ Make Its May 2024 Release Date? 

Shawn Levy, the director of Deadpool 3 is uncertain about the film’s scheduled release on May 3, 2024.

The superhero sequel features Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Levy acknowledged that the actors’ strike and the production hiatus have placed the release date in jeopardy. He expressed his uncertainty about the release date, saying, “I wish I knew. I don’t even know if we officially have a release date”.

The ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, which began on July 14, 2023. In an interview with The Wrap while discussing his upcoming Netflix series, All the Light We Cannot See, Levy revealed that only half of Deadpool 3 has been shot and edited. He added, “We’ve shot half the movie. I’ve edited half the movie. We’re dying to get back to work and get this movie out next year.”

He provided an update on Stranger Things Season 5, which has also been affected by the SAG-AFTRA strike. Levy expressed the hope of beginning filming as soon as possible, emphasizing the need to resolve the actor’s strike first. Praised the efforts of the show’s creators, the Duffer brothers. He teased a stage production titled Stranger Things: The First Shadow offering a glimpse into the past loved characters.

Levy concluded stating, “It has exceeded all our expectations. We’re very excited to share that with the world”.
