Wednesday star Jenna appreciated by fans for omitting a line in Netflix series

The 20-year-old claimed that she had originally written a sentence that would have shown how much Wednesday adored the garment after discovering it in a store window and having her close friend Thing, a disembodied hand, steal it for her.

While speaking during a Netflix Q&A, she said: ‘I remember there’s a line where I’m talking about a dress and initially she was supposed to say: “Oh my God I’m freaking out over a dress, I literally hate myself.”’ “And I was blown away because that sounded like. It was just a bunch of little things like that. I felt like we were able to avoid a lot of dialogue in an attempt to make her sound human.”

When shown a clip of Jenna’s interview discussing the disputed cut line, some users of TikTok concurred that it was appropriate for it to be deleted.

One reader observed, “They gotta let Jenna inside the writing room for season 2,” while another wrote, “Gotta give credits to actors who sometimes know their characters better than the writers.”

I’m relieved they left this out. Another person remarked, “I believe her mere attention to the dress in the window and Thing procuring it for her was plenty of a reaction. One person said, “Can we get Jenna in the writers room next season hahaha,” and another responded, “Nahhh I called it because why could I tell Jenna was avoiding the bad lines.”

Wednesday is currently streaming on Netflix.
