The Boys: Mexico’ Spinoff In Works At Amazon

The Boys universe is set to expand further with the introduction of a new series, The Boys: Mexico.

The series is the brainchild of Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, known for his work on Blue Beetle. Both esteemed actors, Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal are slated to executive produce the project and are contemplating acting roles, although not in major capacities.

According to Deadline, details surrounding the storyline of the spin off is being closely guarded, creating an air of anticipation among fans. Currently, a search is underway for a co-showrunner to collaborate with creator and executive producer Alcocer, who is actively engaged in scripting the series. The production team is diligently working on budgets for the show, which is expected to be filmed in Latin America, with casting yet to commence.

This Mexico-set offshoot is a collaborative effort from the key creative forces behind The Boys franchise, including Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Neil H. Moritz, and others. The original series, based on the popular comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, provides a satirical perspective on superheroes abusing their powers.

Following the success of The Boys, which is gearing up for its fourth season, two spinoff series were launched in 2023: the animated The Boys Presents: Diabolical and the college-set spinoff Gen V.

The duo, who became producing partners in 2018 under La Corriente del Golfo, has been involved in notable projects like Cassandra and the Amazon series Pan y Circo. The Boys: Mexico marks another exciting chapter in The Boys franchise, promising fans a fresh perspective within this dynamic and expanding universe.
