Colwill added to his excellent summer by assisting the England U21 team on Wednesday in reaching the European Championship final. The Young Lions easily defeated Israel 3-0 in the semifinals to secure their spot in Saturday’s championship game, where they will take on five-time champion Spain.
Without surrendering a single goal throughout the competition, England has advanced to the final in Georgia. Colwill, who started four of his nation’s five games, has greatly contributed to this with his performances.
The 20-year-old’s accomplishments on the international stage come after a ground-breaking debut season in the Premier League while on loan at Brighton. Since then, he has returned to Chelsea, who are eager for him to sign a new deal, but he is also drawing interest from a number of other top teams.
