Civil Blood From The Producers Of Peaky Blinders is in Works!

Peaky Blinders producer Caryn Mandabach Productions (CMP) is venturing into the world of historical drama with a new series titled Civil Blood.
The project is a collaboration between BAFTA-nominated Elizabeth screenwriter Michael Hirst and Jonathan Entwistle, known for directing The End of the F***ing World.

Set against the backdrop of 17th century England, Civil Blood follows the life of a young woman navigating the challenges of a wartime era. Described as a “mash-up of coming-of-age story with high-stakes action and world-changing ideas,” the series is penned by Hirst and Cat Clarke, based on an original concept by the duo along with Dario Poloni.
According to Deadline, the show is currently in the advanced stages of development. Michael Hirst, recognized for his work on historical TV series like Vikings and the Oscar-nominated Elizabeth, joins forces with Clarke, who contributed to projects such as Good Omens and Ten Percent.
Jonathan Entwistle, the creative mind behind the successful The End of the F***ing World, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “This script has history, heart, family, and war all wrapped up in a punk attitude.” He highlighted the unique perspective the series offers, exploring a period of history seldom depicted, akin to the American western genre.
In addition to Civil Blood, CMP has recently acquired the rights to P.D. James’ Cordelia Gray novels, showcasing the production company’s commitment to diverse and compelling storytelling.
