What is Hellraiser 2022?

Hellraiser is adapted from The Hellbound Heart novella written by Clive barker who gave life to Pinhead. The movie’s poster confirms that the 11th installment would also involve a supernatural serial killer, given that the first movie was entirely sadomasochistic.

So what would Hellraiser 2022 have in store for us? If we take a look at the synopsis provided by IMDB, the movie is yet again a remake that sheds light upon a young woman who has to come face-to-face with a supernatural force raised by a puzzle box. The same puzzle box is also the cause of her brother’s disappearance.

“A take on a live Barker’s 1987 horror classic where a young woman struggling with addiction comes into possession of an ancient puzzle box, unaware that its purpose is to summon the Cenobites, a group of sadistic supernatural beings from another dimension”

Cenobites serve as the villains of the franchise who are interdimensional creatures guarding behalf of The Order of the Gash. They used to be ordinary people but were turned into petrified, deformed versions of themselves after they chose to unlock a puzzle box they were not supposed to.

Thereon, not only were the cenobites transformed but their senses were also taken away from them. Hence, they can not differentiate between pleasure and pain. If any ordinary human tries to solve the puzzle, they unlock the gate to their doom as these cenobites catch them and torture them.

At first, the trailer gives a detailed recap about the storyline which is religiously followed in every Hellraiser movie, and then it unleashes the Cenobites, followed by Pinhead. The haunting demons are back again to take away a chunk of humankind.

Apart from every character arc, we’re most excited to know who is going to play Pinhead and well, we have the answer to it; The Sense8 star Jamie Clayton would star as Pinhead. The actor has been given a whole new look, and trust us, even we failed to recognize her from the trailer.
