According to Sky News, following her departure as the actor’s vice president of production and finance, she experienced a sense of fear leaving her home. Ms. Robinson’s legal team implied that Ms. Chen might have been envious of her partner’s assistant, though they denied any romantic involvement.

De Niro’s response to these allegations appeared to be marked by anger as he testified on Monday. Often raising his voice. However, when questioned about whether he believed Ms. Robinson had been a diligent employee. He retorted, “Not after everything I’m going through now.”

The actor, who recently starred in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, insisted he treated Ms Robinson well even after he bought a five-bedroom Manhattan townhouse and let her oversee some of the preparations so he could move there with Ms Chen. The actor continued: “It is not like I’m asking for her to go out there and scrape floors and mop the floor. So this is all nonsense.”

De Niro’s lawyer, Richard Schoenstein, said Robinson was treated very well by the star “but always thought she deserved more.” The lawsuit comes only months after De Niro became a father for the seventh time, age the age of 79.
