Piers Morgan’s Glastonbury Remarks Enrages Elton John Fans

Elton John fans are infuriated towards Piers Morgan’s suggestion that the star couldn’t recall the lyrics to his own songs.

On June 25, the Candle in the Wind musician capped the Worthy Farm festival with his final ever UK performance. John’s show garnered unanimous five-star ratings, with the singer squeezing his biggest songs into a two-hour set that included Rocket Man, Bennie and the Jets, Hold Me Closer, and I’m Still Standing.

During the concert, former Good Morning Britain host Morgan tweeted his comments on John’s performance.

Many of John’s admirers reacted angrily, accusing Morgan of “attention-seeking.”

One fan remarked, “Elton John has recorded almost 500 songs. Piers Morgan needs autocue to let him know whether to say good morning or good afternoon.”

Despite Morgan’s assertion, many celebs were left shouting John’s praises following his performance on the Pyramid Stage.

It has later been reported that John’s performance was the most-watched in Glastonbury history, with over seven million people tuning in to watch on the BBC.
