ITVX got the rights to show the new HBO Max series called Love & Death. It’s a show where Elizabeth Olsen plays the famous character Candy Montgomery.
The show will be available on the service this fall. It’s based on the book Evidence Of Love: A True Story Of Passion And Death In The Suburbs and some articles from the magazine Texas Monthly.
Co-produced by Lionsgate, Love & Death tells the story of two religious couples who are living a quiet family life in a Texas town. However, things take a dark turn when someone wields an axe.
The show features a cast that includes Elizabeth Olsen, Jesse Plemons, Lily Rabe, Patrick Fugit, Elizabeth Marvel, Tom Pelphrey, Krysten Ritter, and Keir Gilchrist.
ITV Head of Content Acquisitions Sasha Breslau said in an official statement, “We are thrilled to bring this scabrous, gripping series to ITVX viewers in the UK; get ready to be totally hooked!”
Alison Morris, SVP Television, Digital & Affiliate Distribution at Warner Bros. Discovery, said: “HBO Max’s Love & Death is a great addition to the line-up of premium dramas based on real life stories on ITV and ITVX.
“I hope that UK audiences are going to be as fascinated with the twists and turns of this story as I am. David and Lesli have done a brilliant job of finding the humanity in this most extraordinary set of events, helped by stellar performances from an amazing cast.”
In the previous month, UK broadcaster ITV disclosed a 55% rise in the number of hours viewers spent streaming content since the launch of ITVX on December 8th.
According to ITV, the most popular attractions on the platform included the later stages of the FIFA World Cup and original scripted shows like the true crime drama Litvinenko and the miniseries The Reunion.
