The entertainment industry is in shock after the unexpected passing of Angus Cloud, a 25-year-old star from the TV show Euphoria.
The family of the actor, known for his role as Fezco O’Neill on the popular HBO series Euphoria, confirmed his passing in a statement released on Monday, July 31st.
“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.
“Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.
“Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
At 5:13 PM PT, the police stated that they are currently investigating the cause of death, as it remains unknown at this point.
At 3:30 PM PT, it was revealed that the Oakland PD and Fire Dept. responded to a 911 call from Angus Cloud’s mother around 11:30 AM on Monday. She reported a “possible overdose” and stated that Angus did not have a pulse. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a source close to the family, Angus had been struggling with severe suicidal thoughts after returning from Ireland, where they had recently laid his father to rest. He was staying with his family, attempting to cope with the overwhelming grief during that time.
One of his family members said: “We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”
Angus was a rising star in Hollywood, and his breakout role in the hit HBO series, which aired from 2019 to 2022, will be one of his most memorable achievements. He portrayed Fezco, a complex character who served as both a drug dealer and a guardian angel for Zendaya’s character, Rue Bennett.
