Set 30 years after Dr Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. He follows a new team that must restart the project hoping to understand the mysteries behind the machine and its creator.

Dr Sam Beckett disappeared into the Quantum Leap accelerator thirty years ago. A new group has taken up the Quantum Leap project and is working to solve the puzzles Beckett and his device leave behind. The principal scientist for the new project Dr Ben Song has used the enhanced accelerator to travel back in time after uploading new computer code to the project systems for unclear reasons. Like Beckett he gets lost in the past experiencing other people’s lives and altering history to return to the present. Ben’s fiancée Addison Augustine a project employee is his point of contact with the project. She appears to him as a hologram that only he can see and hear much like Al Calavicci did for Beckett during the previous project.

They attempt to revive the Quantum Leap project and learn more about the device and its designer the long-lost Dr Sam Beckett. Ben Song engages in several time-warping misadventures in the trailer. On March 8 2022 it was revealed that Ernie Hudson would play Herbert “Magic” Williams in the cast. The next day another revelation was made that Caitlin Bassett who would be making her television debut Nanrisa Lee and Mason Alexander Park would join the cast as Jenn Chou Ian Wright and Addison Augustine respectively.
