In what order should I watch the series?

We recommend watching the series in chronological order, the first movie is good as a stand-alone story too.

1. The Chronicles of Narnia: The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe:

IMDb rating: 6.9\10

Plot: The first movie released in 2005  is an adaptation of the first Narnia book (in chronological order) and covers the adventure of the Pevensie siblings Lucy (played by Georgie Henley), Edmund (Played by Skander Keynes), Susan (played by Anna Popplewell) and Peter (played by William Moseley. Together they discover the land of Narnia through a mysterious closet.

The children are in awe of the heavenly wonders that Narnia offers before everything turns upside down. As naive as anyone their age, the Pevensie siblings are in for a turn of events- they must rescue Narnia from the evil ruler Witch Winter (played by Tilda Swinton).

They meet the good inhabitants of Narnia Mr. Tumnes (James Mc Avoy), Aslan the lion (played by Liam Neeson), Mr. Beaver(Ray Winstone), and Mrs. Beaver ( Elizabeth Hawthrone) who help them fight the evils of the land.

How well received was the movie ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’?

Under the direction of  Andrew  Adamson;this incredible 2h 23m adaptation did justice to C.S  Lewis’s book and went on to win an Oscar, 18 awards and 46 nominations. The film provides a clear contrast between good and evil through the characters of opposing characters of Aslan and the evil witch. It also sets the tone for other persistent themes throughout the Narnia series which are friendship vs betrayal, courage and mystery.

The second film of the trilogical series released in 2008 also takes place in Narnia where the Pevensie siblings find themselves in Narnia again.1,300 years have passed in Narnia, which is once again facing the wrath of an evil ruler King Miraz (played by Sergio Castellitto). This time they work collaboratively with Prince Caspian (played by Ben Barnes) to set Narnia free.

Although in the real world only 1 year has passed, Narnia has significantly changed in 1300 years and the supporting characters have been replaced by new ones as the story goes forward and matures.va

Was the Prince Caspian Movie worth watching?

Not as popular as the first film,  however Prince Caspian gained a lot of traction from the audience and won 4 awards and 21 nominations.

3. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of The Dawn Treader

IMDb rating: 6.3/10

The last of the trilogy, released in 2010 takes us through another adventure in Narnia but this time without Susan and Peter who are in America whilst the other two Edmund and Lucy stay back with their grumpy cousin Eustace Scrubb (played by Will Potter). Whilst adjusting to their changing life and painting, the children find themselves in Narnia again. Three years have passed since the events that occurred in the Prince Caspian event and they reunite with him.

This time, a mysterious green mist is spreading through the land of Narnia and corroding the minds of its inhabitants. Prince Caspian is on the lookout for the seven lost swords of Telmar to stop the mist.

Why did the series end here?

The changing character dynamics and the addition of Eustace take away from the story’s essence and the weak plot makes the audience lose interest in a series they previously couldn’t get enough of. The series won a total of 2 awards.
