The Winchesters: Will Tom Welling & Jeffrey Dean appear in the ‘Supernatural’ Prequel?

Tom Welling, a former cast member of Supernatural, has joined the CW drama series The Winchesters, created by Robbie Thompson, Jensen Ackles, and Danneel Ackles for Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios. Producers and cast members of The Winchesters made the announcement at New York Comic Con, and Welling made a surprise appearance. The CW will debut The Winchesters on Tuesday, October 11.

Fans of Supernatural will be aware of some of their past, but the new series promises to cover every aspect of this largely forgotten tale. Before Sam and Dean entered their life, we’ll get to learn about how they initially met, fell in love, and established themselves as leaders in the hunting community.

Fans of the television series Supernatural will recall that Jeffrey Dean Morgan made his acting debut as John Winchester in the second season of the show. A younger version of John was later played by Matt Cohen in the series, and now Rodger is portraying an even younger John on The Winchesters. It doesn’t seem too far-fetched to somehow manage to put “all the Johns” into play at some point on The Winchesters given the nature of Supernatural generally—the programme has definitely dabbled with timelines more than a few times.

“I’m not a writer, I don’t know how to write that kind of stuff, but I certainly have planted the seed,” Ackles said. “So, we’ll see what happens.”

Here’s a list of shows like Supernatural and The Winchester, both shows are streaming on The CW.
