‘The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power’ reveals all female directing team
The upcoming second season of Amazon Studios The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which is currently in production in the UK, will be directed by Charlotte Brändström, who is coming back after helming two episodes in Season 1, as well as Sanaa Hamri and Louise Hooper who are new to the production team.
By telling us how many episodes these directors would be handling, Amazon also obliquely revealed that The Rings of Power season 2 will have eight episodes total, which is the same amount as season 1.
Two of the first season’s episodes were directed by Brändström, including Episode 6, “Udûn,” which featured the major conflict. Since that was undoubtedly the best episode of season 1. It is not surprising that Brändström will once again be in charge of directing four episodes. Brändström was the sole female director in Season 1. In Season 2, she is in charge of a team of all female directors.
In Season 2, two episodes will be directed by each of Hamri and Hooper. Additionally, Amazon Studios has overall agreements with Brändström and Hamri.
Since season 2 is already in production. It’s possible that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power may arrive in the latter half of 2023.
