Summer House’s Lindsay Hubbard’s Shocking Comment on Split
Summer House’s star Lindsay Hubbard says she didn’t want to cancel her wedding to Carl Radke, and it was his decision. She made this statement after Radke had told everyone about it earlier this week.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Hubbard broke her silence in an Instagram post on Thursday, writing that her “entire life and future” have been “ripped out from” under her.
“I would like to start by saying thank you for allowing me the space and time to process my emotions, heal, and grieve the loss of not only my relationship, but my friendship with someone I considered my best friend for eight years,” Hubbard wrote.
Hubbard and Radke first met in 2016 while working on season 1 of Summer House. They had an on-and-off relationship before getting engaged in 2022.
“The last two weeks have been the most heartbreaking and emotional weeks of my life,” she continued. “My entire life and future was ripped out from underneath me and I’ve had a hard time making sense of it all — with no answers or closure on why. I feel humiliated by how it went down, and simultaneously heartbroken that it happened in the first place. My trust has been betrayed, and coming to terms with that has been difficult for me.”
On September 11, Radke wrote a letter to friends and family, which PEOPLE obtained. In the letter, he explained that he and Hubbard had called off their engagement and would not be proceeding with their planned wedding in Mexico, scheduled for November.
“The fact of the matter is Lindsay is devastated and I’m crushed with how all this transpired,” Radke wrote.
“This was not my decision, and I do not agree with quitting a relationship (at this level) without trying everything possible first,” she wrote. “I have spent the last couple of weeks finding my own closure and peace. I am forever grateful to my best friends who have not left my side, and have been picking up the pieces of my heart and life every day from the fallout.”
Hubbard expressed her gratitude to her friends, family, Summer House cast members, and her social media followers for their support and for being there for her during this time.
