RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Returns With Surprises

The long wait is finished, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is making a comeback, and a group of fabulous queens is all set to bring exciting moments to BBC Three.

The cast for the fifth series has been introduced in a fantastic chocolate-themed “Meet the Queens” special. You can watch it right now on BBC iPlayer.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is full of surprises, much like a box of chocolates. In the fifth series, you can expect stunning runway outfits, breathtaking lip-sync performances, and a fresh batch of queens to become completely enthralled with.

Series one, two, three and four of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK have been streamed over 67 million times on BBC iPlayer, continuing to establish the title as a much loved, highly lauded, competitive reality smash hit for BBC Three and of one the BBC’s top activating titles on iPlayer for young audiences.

Alexis Saint-Pete, aged 29, hails from London. Alexis Saint-Pete is the first queen from Poland to be on Drag Race. She calls herself a “clown in a supermodel body” and wants to make her home country proud.

Banskie, aged 23, comes from Manchester. Banskie is teaming up with Cheddar Gorgeous, who was the runner-up in series four and is their “drag gender non-conforming parental figure.” Together, they’re on a mission to challenge and change the way you think about drag.

Cara Melle, 26 years old, hails from London. Cara Melle calls herself a “lip-sync assassin,” which means other queens should be cautious about challenging her in lip-sync performances.

DeDeLicious is 20 years old and is from Kent. Referring to her connection with Krystal, DeDeLicious humorously remarks, “She’s incredibly sexy, while I’m like a playful clown on tall stilts.”

Ginger Johnson is 34 years old and hails from County Durham. Ginger Johnson describes herself as “a helium balloon in the shape of a woman.” This description gives you a sense of her fun, lighthearted, and campy style of drag that has been entertaining audiences for the past 15 years.

Kate Butch is 26 years old and is from Buxton. Kate Butch, drawing inspiration from Babooshka, characterizes herself as “the Comic Sans of drag.” She is influenced by the eccentric and dramatic style of her namesake and defines her drag as resembling a “Hollywood starlet with a migraine.”

Michael Marouli is 39 years old and hails from Newcastle. Michael Marouli is a versatile entertainer who can host, perform, sing, and deliver comedy. With these skills, she’s prepared to shine in various Drag Race UK challenges.

Miss Naomi Carter is 23 years old and comes from Doncaster. Naomi has been involved in drag for five years, starting with her first look for a Pride event she attended with her mom. After applying for the last three seasons, she’s now eager to showcase her Gambian heritage and impress with her dance moves in pursuit of the crown.

Tamara Thomas, 25, Hartlepool. But she’s more than just a great dancer. She thinks of herself as beautiful, funny, and always up for a good time.

Vicki Vivacious is a 36-year-old person from Cornwall. She describes herself as a glamorous person with a talkative and expressive personality, comparing her speech to Kerry Katona’s. Vicki is the first queen from Cornwall to compete on Drag Race UK, proudly representing her region.
