Ranbir Kapoor Seeks Revenge in Gritty ‘Animal’ Trailer
On September 28, in honor of Bollywood icon Ranbir Kapoor’s birthday, T-Series unveiled the inaugural trailer for his forthcoming film, Animal. Crafted as a revenge thriller by the acclaimed director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, ‘Animal’ stands as one of the most hotly-anticipated Hindi-language releases of the autumn.
Alongside Kapoor, the film stars the captivating Rashmika Mandanna as his romantic interest and veteran actor Anil Kapoor in the role of his father.
The trailer commences with Kapoor and Mandanna’s characters, purportedly named Arjun and Gitanjali, sharing a leisurely walk and discussing parenthood. However, the atmosphere shifts the moment she mentions his father.
An air of uncertainty permeates as the scene transitions to a flashback, portraying a younger Arjun enduring physical abuse from his father, evidently yearning for his approval. Returning to the present, Arjun commends his father, cautioning Gitanjali against speaking ill of him ever again.
Her apprehension is palpable. “You can ask me anything, and I’ll be honest, but you can’t ask me this,” he declares, alluding to deep-seated paternal conflicts.
While Animal shares thematic echoes with recent Bollywood hits like Jawan and Gadar 2—all tales of father-son dynamics—it doesn’t shy away from showcasing Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s signature stylized action.

A substantial portion of the trailer is dedicated to a high-octane gunfight in a grand corridor, featuring a determined Arjun alongside a menacing gang dressed in suave tuxedos and foreboding masks.
The trailer strongly hints at the demise of either Gitanjali or Arjun’s father, propelling him into a frenzy of violent retribution against the perpetrator, revealed in the closing moments as Bobby Deol. This casting choice resonates with aficionados of ’90s Bollywood cinema, where Deol often portrayed intense heartthrobs.
