Princess of Wales Makes Surprise Appearance At Wimbledon to Cheer Tennis Star

The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton arrives at day two of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on court 18 to watch the British No.1 tennis star Katie Boulter’s first round match in London.

The Princess of Wales is the patron of the All England Tennis Club (AELTC), and is anticipated to observe portions of the matches from the royal box on Centre Court later in the day. Additionally, she is expected to attend a ceremony honoring Roger Federer, the legendary eight-time Wimbledon champion who retired from professional tennis last year.

Roger Federer also amusingly reacts to Kate and William’s tweet saying, “count me in.”

Joined by former tennis players Debbie Jevans and Laura Robson, Middleton takes her seat with the intention of being Boulter’s lucky charm, supporting her in defeating her Australian opponent and advancing to the next round.

Due to the onset of rain, she was obliged to depart from the court, resulting in a temporary suspension of play. The Princess of Wales was seen using Wimbledon Golf Umbrella at Wimbledon.

Last month, the Princess teamed up with Federer at the tennis club to play a friendly doubles match alongside some of the ball boys and girls participating in this year’s Wimbledon.

In the previous year, the Princess was present at the women’s singles final where Elena Rybakina, hailing from Russia and representing Kazakhstan, faced off against Ons Jabeur from Tunisia in a quest for her first-ever grand slam championship. During a ceremony held on Centre Court, Kate had the honor of presenting the trophies to both the victorious player and the runner-up.
