Paramount+ Launches In South Korea Via Streaming Platform Tving

For the first time in Korea Paramount+ originals such as “Halo” “Yellowjackets” “Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber” “Mayor of Kingstown” and “1883” will be launched exclusively through the new branded zone. It will also include titles from Showtime’s collection such as “Mission: Impossible“Top Gun” and “Transformers” as well as CBS shows “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “NCIS” Nickelodeon’s “SpongeBob SquarePants” Comedy Central’s “South Park” MTV’s young adult series and others.

The launch is part of a global strategic alliance launched by Paramount Global and CJ ENM in December of last year. Content licensing and distribution across Paramount+ and TVing are part of the pact as are joint efforts on seven Korean original shows.

Lotte Entertainment a corporation that competes with CJ in cinemas film production finance and distribution is currently handling Paramount’s Korean theatrical releases. On June 22 2022 Lotte will release “Top Gun: Maverick” in Korean theatres.
“Yonder” the first Korean local production originating from the CJ ENM-Paramount Global alliance will air later this year on Korean television. It will be available on Paramount+ in all worldwide areas where the service is accessible it will be available on Paramount+.
