Nicholas Barasch & Karl Walcott joins ‘Riverdale’ for Season 7

For the upcoming seventh and final season of Riverdale Karl Walcott and Nicholas Barasch from “Hadestown” and “Le Chalet,” respectively, have been cast in significant recurring roles on Roberto Aguirre-Archie Sacasa’s Comics series.

Barasch will portray the stereotypical red-headed bully from high school, Julien Blossom. He’s posh, wealthy, and very entitled. He always gets his way thanks to his good looks, athleticism, and cockiness, but when he doesn’t like with Veronica he makes everyone else’s life miserable. He frequently disagrees with his identical twin sister and is a bad guy for all of our teen characters, but especially for Archie.

Clay Walker, a young Renaissance man, is Walcott. He is a talented, creative, well-read, and well-traveled individual. Clay, a military brat from a loving home, is an advocate for social justice. In terms of both his work and sexuality, he is quite accepting. Clay will have a significant friendship with another homosexual character Kevin Keller, just as he has in the comic books.

A seasoned stage performer, Barasch recently finished playing the title role of Orpheus in the Tony Award-winning smash musical Hadestown’s first national tour. Barasch has made appearances on several television shows, including HBO’s How To Make It In America and The Backyardigans on Nickelodeon.

Walcott, a Canadian actor, is most known for playing Charles, a series regular, on Vrak TV’s Le Chalet. Demain des hommes, 21 Thunder, Cerebrum, and most recently The Night Logan Woke Up by Xavier Dolan are among his other series credits. His filmography includes X-Men: Apocalypse and Moonfall, a sci-fi film directed by Roland Emmerich.

After the town made it through Bailey’s comet, Season 7 will start with a massive time jump but with a significant reset. The central figures are reentering high school but in 1955.
