Niall Horan Kicking Off ‘Extended Play’ Series For Vevo

Niall Horan, former member of One Direction and the voice judge, is taking the lead in new live performance series called Extended Play, produced by music network Vevo.

The series aims to capture multi-song performances in various locations that align with the artist’s creative vision. Horan will kick off the franchise later this month with intimate renditions of songs from latest album, The Show. As the series progresses, it will feature other artists and explore different venues matching the evolution of the singer’s sound.

He previously collaborated with Vevo in 2019 to release studio performances of two of his songs. After gaining fame as part of One Direction, he has embarked on a successful solo career, releasing albums since 2017.

Vevo’s Senior Vice President, expressed to Deadline that the Extended Play series aims to celebrate the artistic essence of music and the significant moments that contribute to its creation. By shifting the focus away from the bustling atmosphere of sold-out concerts and high-energy recording studios. The series intends to provide audiences with a deeper and more intimate understanding of an artist’s creative process. Evangelista explained that the concept for Extended Play emerged from the growing trend of longform music content, coinciding with audiences’ renewed interest in enjoying music in the comfort of their living rooms.

One of the unique aspects is its ability to seamlessly integrate standalone performances into a comprehensive and coherent narrative. This characteristic makes Extended Play ideally suited for television broadcasting.
