Idina Menzel, who plays Anna in Frozen, acknowledges that she changed “Let It Go” and now regrets it.
The popular star, Menzel says that she made one change in the song of the movie which she regrets now. Frozen has made a surprising hit by crossing more than $1.2 billion worldwide. The movie also won two Academy awards. Menzel voiced the character of Queen Elsa in Frozen as well as the most famous tune of the movie. Few contemporary Disney songs have been able to equal the popularity of her show-stopping ballad “Let It Go.”
During the talk with CNN, Menzel said that after recording the song she wanted to make a little change and make the vocals a little higher. The actress says, “So, I came in once and I sang it and I came back another time because they had written another part to it and they changed some of the lyrics. I realized that I felt like my voice sounded too mature, in order to really embody this young woman that you see in the movie, so I asked them to take it up.”
She further added, “Let’s take it up a half-step and see,” because then it sounds a little bit more innocent in my voice, a little younger. As I was watching it just now, I was thinking, Jeez, what was I thinking there, but, I’m glad because she sounds a little younger and a little bit more vulnerable.”
An essential turning point in Elsa’s Frozen journey may be seen in “Let It Go.” She finally lets go of the control she has over her icy powers at that point. Many people can relate to the idea of embracing one’s true self, which is why “Let It Go” was so well-received.
