‘Haunting of Hill House’ Showrunner teases more seasons
According to The Haunting of Hill House creator Mike Flanagan, future seasons of the anthology series are possible with the correct original story.
In an interview with TVLine, Flanagan talked about the difficulty of creating more seasons. He explained, “Our thing with the Haunting series is that we always intended it to be largely based on a piece of classic horror literature, and ideally something that has been adapted before that we can do something fresh with.”
“When we think of the Haunting, we tend to associate it with writers like (Edgar Allan) Poe and (Charles) Dickens, who were more contemporaneous with Henry James and Shirley Jackson. It also has to be mostly about ghosts, which is another requirement.”
The Haunting of Bly Manor draws inspiration from Henry James’ 1898 novella The Turn of the Screw, while The Haunting of Hill House is based on Shirley Jackson’s 1959 book.
You can find both The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor streaming on Netflix.
