‘Harley Quinn’ spinoff “Noonan’s” in development; creators Halpern and Schumacker

Harlivy shippers can rejoice because everyone’s favourite supervillain couple is returning to battle once again. Season 4 of “Harley Quinn” has been ordered by HBO Max.

“We are ecstatic that HBO Max wants the story of Harley and Ivy to continue,” creators Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker said in a statement. “And we are equally thrilled that this next season will be in great hands with Sarah Peters as our showrunner and Ceci Aranovich overseeing animation production, as they have both greatly influenced the show with their brilliance since the beginning.”

The announcement comes as the third season of “Harley Quinn,” which has been releasing new episodes on Thursdays, is still in progress. On September 15, HBO Max will premiere the Season 3 finale. The animated series’ first season on HBO Max debuted on July 28. It started as an original programme for the streaming service DC Universe, which was later disbanded and reorganized as the online comics platform DC Universe Infinite.

The “Harley Quinn” crew is also working on a spinoff series called “Noonan’s” that will complement the main series. It will follow Matt Oberg’s character Kite Man, a former lover of Poison Ivy, as he buys the namesake dive bar, which is frequented by several Gotham City villains. According to Halpern and Schumacker, the series will also feature the voice of Cathy Ang, who appeared as a guest on “Harley Quinn” in Season 3, as Golden Glider, Kite Man’s new lover. James Adomian will provide the voice of the series’ recurrent antagonist Bane.
