‘Gangs of London’ star talks shocking character return

AMC+ Gangs of London, a crime drama, had a lot of deaths in season 1, but none were more shocking than Sean Wallace. Except that Sean is actually still alive and well, even though he probably crossed Elliot off his Christmas card list, as viewers learned on Thursday at the conclusion of season 2’s second episode.

‘I’m glad he’s still a part of this journey,’ says Sopé Dìrísù back from the dead costar.

At the premiere, someone questioned how it was this year without Joe on set. Actor says “Well, it wouldn’t have been the same without him. And without him, it wouldn’t have been the same. Since I’ve known Joe for years and adore his art, I have a great deal of respect for him. I’m happy he’s still travelling with us. I was aware that this would occur while we were filming episode 9’s final scene the previous time. It’s better inside with Joe than outside”

When asked for the upcoming season plot and expectations Sopé stated: “I try as much as possible when working not to focus on scenes my character’s not in, for two reasons. One, information that the character doesn’t know will come up but it’s not useful for the process. But also, it gives me the opportunity to sit back and watch it as a regular punter when the stuff comes out”

He added “There was so much of this season that I just enjoyed. I think, if I could give people a teaser, I would say, Orli Shuka as Luan, and Mirlinda as Eri. That arc in this series is just incredible. I love the way that their scenes are written, I love Orli’s execution of the scenes he goes through. People have got them to look forward to for sure”
