Freya Allan to star in ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’

After The Witcher, Freya Allan will soon set off on a new voyage with a brand new group of crewmates.

The 20th Century Studios’ next Planet of the Apes movie has cast Allan in a significant role. The film’s title, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, has also been officially announced by the studio.

Soon after purchasing the entertainment assets of 20th Century Fox in 2019, Disney started working on a new Planet of the Apes film. The cast didn’t begin to take shape until last month. In place of Andy Seriks’ Caesar, who starred in the first three films in the Apes series, Owen Teague will take over the role of the main ape.

Peter Macon from The Orville also appears in the film. Few character specifics are available, although Allan is definitely portraying a human. Several of Hollywood’s up-and-coming talents were vying for the job. However, Allan landed the role following a “long” audition procedure that included many screen tests.

In 2019, Wes Ball agreed to take the helm of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, and he emphasized that the movie is not being created as a series reboot. Instead, the narrative occurs in the same setting as the Rupert Wyatt and Matt Reeves-helmed Serkis films. 20th Century offered a first look at concept art from the movie, and the title reveal. The picture depicts an ape riding a horse and looking out over a devastated urban landscape.
