Days after Spotify canceled its agreement with the California-based royal couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may join Dior.
This week, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle discussed a new collaboration with the premium apparel business. The Mail on Sunday wondered whether she would become the “mega-bucks Duchess of Dior.”
A Sussexes representative denied the rumors to The Telegraph. The magazine also said that Dior is “nonplussed as to how the story came about.” After producing Meghan’s podcast Archetypes’ first season, Archewell Audio stated that “Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways.”
Is Dior Really Collaborating With Meghan Markle?
The Mail stated that Meghan may become the “face of” the French fashion company.
A source informed the outlet if Meghan “pulls that off, then no one will remember” her show being canceled. Meghan’s WME team “knew the Spotify announcement was coming,” it stated.
“It might be a shock to everyone else but we’ve been working on rebranding Meghan for weeks,” the insider said, adding that Ari Emanuel is the “best in the business” at arranging “corporate deals.”
Many Twitter users have questioned the Dior-Meghan relationship. Some said the business should stay with its ambassadors, while others questioned the timing of this transaction because the pair had discontinued their Spotify collaboration.
“The #Dior thing is a PR tactic to distract from their getting booted, cancelled, fired from Spotify,” another said. “And to divert attention from the fact they were immediately exposed. “F***ing grifters.”
Others supported the fashion business and the royal couple, saying they may increase sales. Though Dior is factual. “They noticed that if Meghan wears an item, it sells out,” one wrote.
The duo has often supported Dior. Harry donned the designer house’s custom suit during King Charles III’s coronation in May. The business stated that it honored the duke by dressing him in a unique Kim Jones design.
When Meghan carried a black Dior Lady D-Lite handbag to the 2021 Global Citizen Concert in NYC. The “sister bag” of the Lady Dior handbag, the Dior Lady D-Lite Bag, was named after Diana.
Meghan’s handbag appearance boosted sales. Royal expert Omid Scobie remarked that Dior’s $4,900 Medium Lady D-Lite Bag sold out hours after being released.
