Bebe Rexha Fan Charged With Assault After Hitting Singer
On 18 June, police detained a 27-year-old guy and charged him with assault for the cellphone attack on American singer Bebe Rexha.
She was injured in the face by the device, which was thrown from the audience. The singer fainted and had stitches above her left eye after being brought to the hospital. Whereas the suspected attacker has been identified as a man called Nicolas Malvagna from New Jersey, according to The Independent.
Malvagna allegedly told a responding NYPD officer, “I was trying to see if I could hit her with the phone at the end of the show because it would be funny.”
Malvagna is being charged with attempted assault, aggravated harassment, and two counts of assault. On July 31 he will appear in court again. According to the Daily Mail, Malvagna is employed by a high-end dog boarding facility.
“I understand one of our employees was attending the Bebe Rexha concert on his personal time.” This is what K9 Resorts East Brunswick owner Judy Gorski allegedly informed the press.
“When I heard about his arrest, I was stunned. Regardless of the motivation, my employees and I do not support this kind of behavior. It goes against what we stand for as a company.”
The Fillmore in Philadelphia, The Fillmore Silver Spring in Silver Spring, Maryland, The Tabernacle in Atlanta, and Hard Rock Live Orlando in Orlando, Florida are the next four stops on Rexha’s ongoing tour.
