A new deal between Peaky Blinders Producer and All3Media

The first-look agreement with All3Media International and New Pictures, a division of All3 Media, has been struck by Peaky Blinders and Cobra producer Joe Donaldson. Donaldson has founded a new production business called Magic Hour Television.

Donaldson will collaborate with Willow Grylls, co-founder, and CEO of New Pictures, to create fresh scripted television material.

All3Media and All3Media International will provide funding for the new independent film slate.

Magic Hour plans to work with writing and directing talent in the UK to produce “compelling human stories about life in Britain and beyond.”

On the next third season of Cobra: Rebellion for Sky Max, which is scheduled to begin production later this year, Donaldson will also act as executive producer for New Pictures.

“We are thrilled that Willow and New Pictures are teaming with Magic Hour Television, which will be a wonderful addition to our scripted portfolio,” said Jane Turton, chief executive of All3Media. Joe is a talented producer who has worked on films like Peaky Blinders and Cobra. To watch what happens next, we are eager.

Since 2018, Donaldson has collaborated with New Pictures on the creation of two Cobra series for Sky Max. Prior to that, he produced Peaky Blinders for BBC One/Netflix and Ripper Street for Amazon Prime Video.

Des, Dalgliesh, Cobra, Catherine the Great, and The Missing are among the films produced by New Pictures. A third season of Cobra for Sky Max, The Blue for Paramount Plus, The Long Shadow for ITV, and Champion for BBC One and Netflix in collaboration with Balloon Entertainment are among their forthcoming projects.
