1. Child’s Play – November 9, 1988:

Released in 1988, Child’s Play is the first of the Chucky series and starts off with a serial killer and skilled Voodoo practitioner (played by Brad Dourif) who is able to transfer his soul into the body of a voodoo doll after sustaining a gunshot wound whilst escaping from cops. The doll then creeps into the life of an innocent young boy Andy (played by Brad Dourif) and continues to murder several people.

This first film under the direction of Tom Holland was so successful and so dramatically well received that it started a cult following the movement for the evil doll and made it a decade-long success.

2. Child’s Play 2 – November 9, 1990:

The second film in chronological order is a continuation of the first. Previously due to the impact of Chucky Andy’s mother is placed in a psychiatric hospital and Andy is sent to foster care. However Chucky is right behind, and this time he is after Andy’s soul.
The film child’s play 2 also focuses on the mental health of children impacted by the actions of adults and we see how Andy now struggles with anxiety due to the events of his past and how his primary caretakers and adults in general behaved.

3:Child’s Play 3 – August 30, 1991

Andy who is now 16 years old is fed up with Chucky and has his mind set on destroying the doll that destroyed his life. The company that manufactured the dolls has faced severe backlash and melted all previously produced dolls to remodel them and hence re-establish its image. Unfortunately, just a drop of Chucky’s blood mixed in the melted mix brings him back.
After the first three movies, Chucky becomes a more recallable name and so the remaining series is named after him.

4. Bride of Chucky – October 16, 1998:
The story of Andy is finally in the background, the bride of Chucky is a humorous edition of the series where Chucky is reunited with his Ex lover Tiffany. This film is a parody of the original and is craftily placed in the center of the entire series, bringing upon a touch of vit and of course lots of serial killer drama. Who said horror films can’t be humorous?

5. Seed of Chucky – November 12, 2004
Intended to be a sequel to Bride of Chucky the Seed of Chucky is about Chucky inseminating a human woman with his sperm through a Turkey baster. Chucky and Tiffany have been resurrected by their innocent child Glenda who later due to a Gender identity crisis becomes their son Glen. The story revolves around Glen understanding who his parents are and together they find themselves in Hollywood where there is a doll killing spree underway.
This film was the last of the iconic series to be watched in cinemas and was the writer Don Macinnis debut.
6. Curse of Chucky 2013

This movie brings us back to the original 1988 incarnation with a much more straightforward horror plot after some comedy slashers. In this movie, Chucky is on another killing spree after being delivered to the doorstep of an unwilling family.

7. Cult of Chucky 2017

The final showdown is chaos, Andy receives a suspicious doll and immediately shoots it but that is not enough to end Chucky, he keeps the head and continues to torture it leaving it unrecognizable. Chucky spares no one and visits a previous survivor Nica who is being treated at a mental hospital and is convinced that it was her who committed all the murders, not Chucky! This movie has a stingy feeling of nostalgia to it and brings back all the main characters from the original cast.

This film is a stand-alone and is much relevant to the change in time. The storyline is that of Chucky developing a fear of machinery control. The dolls are now AI-powered and have in-built safety features to prevent the recurrence of violent immorality such as those of Chucky.
