Big Brother About
Big Brother is a game of strategy, trust, and pure craziness. Contestants are confined together, with cameras recording their every move around the clock. Housemates nominate each other for eviction each week, resulting in intense drama, alliances, and unexpected twists. The last person standing receives a large cash award as well as eternal renown. The show debuted on Channel 4 in 2000, 23 years ago. It used to have a live feed into the house where viewers could watch the housemates at any time for free, so you never missed a thing.
Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning & Acquisitions and Controller, ITV2, ItvBe & CITV said:
This refreshed, contemporary new series of Big Brother will contain all the familiar format points that kept viewers engaged and entertained the first time round, but with a brand new look and some additional twists that speak to today’s audience. We’re beyond excited to bring this iconic series to ITV2 and ITVX where it should especially engage with our younger viewers.
