NBC’s broadcast of the 2022 Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade attracted 27.7 million viewers and a 7.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic (including digital, streaming on Peacock and encore viewing). According to Nielsen, that number of viewers is the highest overall in five years!
The live broadcast of Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade on Thursday ranked as NBC’s top entertainment programme of the year in both the demo (5.5) and overall viewers (22.3 million).
The parade more than doubled reach for the parade in 2021 and became Peacock’s most watched entertainment simulstream event ever.
Following the parade, The National Dog Show Presented by Purina attracted 11.2 million viewers overall, including streaming, and a demo rating of 2.8. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon carried the holiday cheer throughout the night with a.90 rating in the demo and 3.4 million viewers, which is the highest original Tonight Show performance in the demo and total viewers in three years.
The most viewers in three years watched Late Night with Seth Meyers, which had an average rating of.90 in the demo and 1.7 million viewers.
